This artwork by Thomas Patch achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2000. In the THE MANOR HOUSE AT CLIFTON HAMPDEN,HOME OF CHRISTOPHER GIBBS auction, the work Seven etchings of caricatures of Florentine individuals, each named, No. 18 - No. 19 and No. 21 - No. 24, with contemporary (autograph?) watercolour, with full margins, dated in the plate 1769 sold for GBP 5,640.00 (€ 9,437.44) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Patch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View Of The River Arno With The Ponte Alle Grazie, Florence in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 433,000.00 (€ 291,759.32).
