Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Three works: (i) Thinking of John Virtue #1, 2000; (ii) Thinking of John Virtue #2, 2000; (iii) Thinking of John Virtue #3 by Thomas Joshua Cooper was sold in the Saturday@Phillips auction at Phillips in London in March 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,347.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Joshua Cooper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Unexpected Nightfall- The Mid North Atlantic Ocean, Porto Moniz, The Island of Madeira (Near the North-most point of the Island), Portugal in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,270.27).
