Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'A Premonitional Work - Ceremonial Dwelling (A Message To Timothy O'Sullivan)' by Thomas Joshua Cooper was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 751.77). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Joshua Cooper achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unexpected Nightfall- The Mid North Atlantic Ocean, Porto Moniz, The Island of Madeira (Near the North-most point of the Island), Portugal in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,270.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'A Premonitional Work - Ceremonial Dwelling (A Message To Timothy O'Sullivan)' von Thomas Joshua Cooper im April 2010 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.000,00 (€ 751,77) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Joshua Cooper erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unexpected Nightfall- The Mid North Atlantic Ocean, Porto Moniz, The Island of Madeira (Near the North-most point of the Island), Portugal im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.270,27).
