In September this year Bonhams in New York held the auction American Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Great Yosemite Falls by Thomas Hill. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,600.00 (€ 9,070.29), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 372,500.00 (€ 328,976.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion American Art | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Great Yosemite Falls von Thomas Hill zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.600,00 (€ 9.070,29) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 372.500,00 (€ 328.976,42).
