Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Edinburgh held the auction California Art, which included the work Washington's Column, from Along the Merced River (Yosemite Valley) by Thomas Hill. The price achieved of USD 14,080.00 (€ 12,907.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 16,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 372,500.00 (€ 328,976.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Edinburgh die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Washington's Column, from Along the Merced River (Yosemite Valley) von Thomas Hill zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 14.080,00 (€ 12.907,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 16.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 372.500,00 (€ 328.976,42).
