Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Yosemite Valley by Thomas Hill was sold in the 19th Century American & Western Art auction at Christies in New York in January 2024. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,619.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 372,500.00 (€ 328,976.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Yosemite Valley von Thomas Hill wurde im Januar 2024 in der Auktion 19th Century American & Western Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.160,00 (€ 17.619,30) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 372.500,00 (€ 328.976,42).
