Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Across the Valley by Thomas Hill was sold in the California Art auction at Bonhams in April this year. The price achieved of USD 12,750.00 (€ 11,548.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 372,500.00 (€ 328,976.42).

Die Arbeit Across the Valley von Thomas Hill wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion California Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.750,00 (€ 11.548,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hill erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 372.500,00 (€ 328.976,42).
