Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sierra Landscape, Yosemite Valley by Thomas Hill was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The price achieved of USD 31,875.00 (€ 28,872.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Hill achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hudson River Valley from the Catskill Mountain House in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 372,500.00 (€ 328,976.42).
