Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Thomas Hickey achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in April this year. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work Portrait of John George Livius, half-length, in a dark blue coat with gold trim sold for GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,171.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Hickey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of George, 1st Earl Macartney, half length, wearing the Order of the Bath, which sold at auction in November 2019 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,888.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Hickey erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit Portrait of John George Livius, half-length, in a dark blue coat with gold trim für GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.171,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Hickey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of George, 1st Earl Macartney, half length, wearing the Order of the Bath beobachtet, die im November 2019 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 27.888,31) versteigert wurde.
