Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings, which included the work Portrait of a lady and her daughter, traditionally identified as Charlotte Myne (née Pringle) and her daughter Susan, full-length, in a white and blue dress, with her daughter Susan Myne, beside a draped column, a landscape beyond by Thomas Hickey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,172.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Hickey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of George, 1st Earl Macartney, half length, wearing the Order of the Bath, which sold at auction in November 2019 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,888.31).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a lady and her daughter, traditionally identified as Charlotte Myne (née Pringle) and her daughter Susan, full-length, in a white and blue dress, with her daughter Susan Myne, beside a draped column, a landscape beyond von Thomas Hickey zur Versteigerung kam.
