Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of William Petty, 2nd Earl of Shelburne and 1st Marquess of Lansdowne by Thomas Gainsborough was sold in the CollectionsIncluding The Peta Smyth Collection of Antique Textiles & Tapestries, Selected Items From The Collection of Lord & Lady Flight, and The Contents of Chequers' Attics auction at Bonhams in March this year. The price achieved of GBP 17,850.00 (€ 20,307.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Gainsborough achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Going To Market, Early Morning in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 7,961,000.00 (€ 8,740,648.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of William Petty, 2nd Earl of Shelburne and 1st Marquess of Lansdowne von Thomas Gainsborough wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion CollectionsIncluding The Peta Smyth Collection of Antique Textiles & Tapestries, Selected Items From The Collection of Lord & Lady Flight, and The Contents of Chequers' Attics bei Bonhams versteigert.
