It achieved a price of GBP 819,000.00 (€ 955,524.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. Admittedly, works by Thomas Gainsborough have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Going To Market, Early Morning in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 7,961,000.00 (€ 8,740,648.70).

Die Arbeit Double portrait of Master John Truman Villebois (c.1773-1837) and his brother Henry Villebois (1777-1847) von Thomas Gainsborough wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion Old Masters Part I bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 819.000,00 (€ 955.524,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 37%.
