Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A young lady, facing right in silk day gown with white frilled underslip, silk cloak draped around her shoulders, her curling hair falling to her shoulders by Thomas Forster was sold in the Miniatures auction at Christies in London in May 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,036.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Forster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Gentleman in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 65,000.00 (€ 76,822.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A young lady, facing right in silk day gown with white frilled underslip, silk cloak draped around her shoulders, her curling hair falling to her shoulders von Thomas Forster wurde im Mai 2000 in der Auktion Miniatures bei Christies in London versteigert.
