In December 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady by Thomas Forster. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,954.71), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Forster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Gentleman in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 65,000.00 (€ 76,822.39).

Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady von Thomas Forster zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.954,71) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Forster erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 65.000,00 (€ 76.822,39).
