This artwork by Thomas Forster achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2017. In the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction, the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Possibly Sir Benjamin Hudson, Bt. (B. Circa 1665) sold for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,276.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Forster achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Gentleman in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 65,000.00 (€ 76,822.39).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Forster erzielte im Juli 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
