Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Classical Ruins Sketch by Thomas Cole was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September this year. It achieved a price of USD 5,760.00 (€ 5,442.18), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 15%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Cole achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Catskill Mountain House in December 2003 with an auction result of USD 1,463,500.00 (€ 1,161,784.55).
