Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On The Amalfi Coast by Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham was sold in the MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES (PICTURES) auction at Christies in London in November 2004. The price achieved of GBP 1,135.25 (€ 1,633.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Veduta di Benares, 1872 in November 2002 with an auction result of EUR 17,360.00.

Die Arbeit On The Amalfi Coast von Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham wurde im November 2004 in der Auktion MARITIME AND NAVAL BATTLES (PICTURES) bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.135,25 (€ 1.633,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Charles Leeson Rowbotham erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Veduta di Benares, 1872 im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 17.360,00.
