Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work San Giorgio Maggiore and the Campanile seen across the Venetian Lagoon by Theodore Wendel was sold in the The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,300.00 (€ 5,870.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Wendel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman by the Sea, Cape Ann, Massachusetts in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 60,800.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit San Giorgio Maggiore and the Campanile seen across the Venetian Lagoon von Theodore Wendel wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The American Scene including Important Photographs from the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.300,00 (€ 5.870,84) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theodore Wendel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman by the Sea, Cape Ann, Massachusetts im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 60.800,54).
