Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Quiet Harbor by Theodore Wendel for USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,349.89). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Wendel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman by the Sea, Cape Ann, Massachusetts in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 60,800.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Quiet Harbor von Theodore Wendel für USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.349,89) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theodore Wendel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman by the Sea, Cape Ann, Massachusetts im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 60.800,54).
