Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Theodore Wendel could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2001 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings and Sculpture auction, the work Ipswich Landscape changed hands for USD 3,525.00 (€ 3,919.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Theodore Wendel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman by the Sea, Cape Ann, Massachusetts in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 60,800.54).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Theodore Wendel konnte im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Ipswich Landscape für USD 3.525,00 (€ 3.919,72) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Theodore Wendel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman by the Sea, Cape Ann, Massachusetts im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 60.800,54).
