This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Paintings Day Sale at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by The Master with the Parrot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint Mary Magdalene Before A Curtain Supported By Angels In An Architectural Niche in June 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,426,500.00 (€ 982,235.08).
