Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mary Magdalene by The Master with the Parrot was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 214,200.00 (€ 191,045.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by The Master with the Parrot have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint Mary Magdalene Before A Curtain Supported By Angels In An Architectural Niche in June 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,426,500.00 (€ 982,235.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mary Magdalene von The Master with the Parrot kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 214.200,00 (€ 191.045,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von The Master with the Parrot auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saint Mary Magdalene Before A Curtain Supported By Angels In An Architectural Niche im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.426.500,00 (€ 982.235,08).
