This artwork by Jan van Dornicke achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2010. In the Old Masters and 19th Century Art auction, the work Christ carrying the Cross sold for EUR 32,200.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Dornicke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Triptych: central panel: The Crucifixion; left wing: Christ carrying the Cross; right wing: The Entombment in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 435,650.00 (€ 694,878.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan van Dornicke erzielte im April 2010 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art wurde die Arbeit Christ carrying the Cross für EUR 32.200,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Dornicke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Triptych: central panel: The Crucifixion; left wing: Christ carrying the Cross; right wing: The Entombment im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 435.650,00 (€ 694.878,65).
