Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A donor praying with the Prophet Daniel, an angel carrying Habakkuk beyond by Jan van Dornicke was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,830.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Dornicke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Triptych: central panel: The Crucifixion; left wing: Christ carrying the Cross; right wing: The Entombment in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 435,650.00 (€ 694,878.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A donor praying with the Prophet Daniel, an angel carrying Habakkuk beyond von Jan van Dornicke kam im April 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.830,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Dornicke erzielen.
