Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The work The Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple with Saint Anne and Saint Joachim: wing from an altarpiece by Jan van Dornicke was sold in the Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2006. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 36,000.00 (€ 51,958.17), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Dornicke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Triptych: central panel: The Crucifixion; left wing: Christ carrying the Cross; right wing: The Entombment in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 435,650.00 (€ 694,878.65).

Die Arbeit The Presentation of the Virgin in the Temple with Saint Anne and Saint Joachim: wing from an altarpiece von Jan van Dornicke wurde im April 2006 in der Auktion Old Master Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 51.958,17) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Dornicke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Triptych: central panel: The Crucifixion; left wing: Christ carrying the Cross; right wing: The Entombment im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 435.650,00 (€ 694.878,65).
