Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Triptych: the central panel: The Adoration of the Magi; the left wing: The Nativity; the right wing: The Flight into Egypt by Jan van Dornicke was auctioned at Christies in London in December this year. The price achieved of GBP 201,600.00 (€ 232,235.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van Dornicke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Triptych: central panel: The Crucifixion; left wing: Christ carrying the Cross; right wing: The Entombment, which sold at auction in July 2002 for GBP 435,650.00 (€ 694,878.65).
