Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February this year Bonhams held the auction Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer, which included the work Departure of the S.S. Ida A. by Thaddeus Welch. The »bidding war« ended at USD 701.25 (€ 661.43), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thaddeus Welch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cattle Watering Under An Oak Tree in March 2018 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,160.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Departure of the S.S. Ida A. von Thaddeus Welch zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 701,25 (€ 661,43) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thaddeus Welch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cattle Watering Under An Oak Tree im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.160,71).
