Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thaddeus Welch could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Summer Day in the Country changed hands for USD 5,400.00 (€ 4,256.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thaddeus Welch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cattle Watering Under An Oak Tree, which sold at auction in March 2018 for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,160.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thaddeus Welch konnte im September 2006 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Summer Day in the Country für USD 5.400,00 (€ 4.256,33) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Thaddeus Welch mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cattle Watering Under An Oak Tree beobachtet, die im März 2018 für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.160,71) versteigert wurde.
