Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California Art, which included the work Ludmilla sketching in the woods beside their child by Thaddeus Welch. The price achieved of USD 5,355.00 (€ 4,744.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thaddeus Welch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cattle Watering Under An Oak Tree, which sold at auction in March 2018 for USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,160.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ludmilla sketching in the woods beside their child von Thaddeus Welch zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.355,00 (€ 4.744,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Thaddeus Welch mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cattle Watering Under An Oak Tree beobachtet, die im März 2018 für USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.160,71) versteigert wurde.
