Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Made In Britain, which included the work Celia Hammond, C. 1966 by Terence Donovan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,246.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Terence Donovan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jimi Hendrix, London, 1967 in March 2020 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,292.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made In Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit Celia Hammond, C. 1966 von Terence Donovan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 2.246,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Terence Donovan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jimi Hendrix, London, 1967 im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.292,05).
