Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Young Woman by Tay Chee Toh was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,871.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tay Chee Toh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Girl In Hammock, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 87,500.00 (€ 10,686.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Young Woman von Tay Chee Toh kam im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.871,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Tay Chee Toh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Girl In Hammock beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 87.500,00 (€ 10.686,90) versteigert wurde.
