Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Asia: Hong Kong Edition, which included the work Women in a Landscape by Tay Bak Koi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 16,250.00 (€ 1,775.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tay Bak Koi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden Harmony in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,143.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: Hong Kong Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Women in a Landscape von Tay Bak Koi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 16.250,00 (€ 1.775,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tay Bak Koi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Golden Harmony im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 71.143,20).
