In November 2021 Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Spring Pasture by Tay Bak Koi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 152,500.00 (€ 16,956.45), 27% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Tay Bak Koi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Golden Harmony in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,143.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spring Pasture von Tay Bak Koi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 152.500,00 (€ 16.956,45) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tay Bak Koi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Golden Harmony im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 625.000,00 (€ 71.143,20).
