Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale, which included the work Greener Pastures by Tay Bak Koi. It changed hands for a price of HKD 226,800.00 (€ 25,119.95) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 140,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tay Bak Koi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Golden Harmony, which sold at auction in April 2019 for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,143.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Greener Pastures von Tay Bak Koi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 226.800,00 (€ 25.119,95) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 140.000,00 – 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tay Bak Koi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Golden Harmony beobachtet, die im April 2019 für HKD 625.000,00 (€ 71.143,20) versteigert wurde.
