In July 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Buffaloes by Tay Bak Koi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 275,000.00 (€ 30,129.95), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tay Bak Koi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Golden Harmony, which sold at auction in April 2019 for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,143.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Buffaloes von Tay Bak Koi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 30.129,95) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tay Bak Koi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Golden Harmony beobachtet, die im April 2019 für HKD 625.000,00 (€ 71.143,20) versteigert wurde.
