Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale, which included the work Buffaloes In A Field by Tay Bak Koi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 212,500.00 (€ 23,282.23), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tay Bak Koi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Golden Harmony, which sold at auction in April 2019 for HKD 625,000.00 (€ 71,143.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Buffaloes In A Field von Tay Bak Koi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 212.500,00 (€ 23.282,23) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tay Bak Koi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Golden Harmony beobachtet, die im April 2019 für HKD 625.000,00 (€ 71.143,20) versteigert wurde.
