TAUBA AUERBACH (B. 1981) [2, 3] the complete artist's portfolio comprising of six die-cut paper constructions in colors, 2010, signed in felt-tip pen on the card insert, numbered 49/1000 (there were also 100 artist's proofs), co-published by the artist and Printed Matter Inc., New York, in generally very good condition, together with the original blue linen slipcase Overall: 20 3 ⁄ 4 x 16 1 ⁄ 2 x 4 1 ⁄ 2 in. (527 x 419 x 114 mm.)

Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work 2, 3 by Tauba Auerbach was auctioned at Christies in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 756.00 (€ 686.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tauba Auerbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Fold) in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,426,500.00 (€ 1,995,317.20).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als die Arbeit 2, 3 von Tauba Auerbach im Juli diesen Jahres bei Christies versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 756,00 (€ 686,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tauba Auerbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Fold) im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.426.500,00 (€ 1.995.317,20).
