In December 2021 Christies held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center, which included the work Landscape by Tao Yiqing. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,787.37), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Tao Yiqing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Countryside Landscape in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 43,825.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center durch, in der auch die Arbeit Landscape von Tao Yiqing zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.787,37) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tao Yiqing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Countryside Landscape im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 43.825,38).
