A top price for Tao Yiqing
This artwork by Tao Yiqing achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Countryside Landscape sold for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 43,825.38) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. This high result makes Countryside Landscape the most expensive artwork by Tao Yiqing that we have observed at auctions so far.
