Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Phillips in New York held the auction Latin America, which included the work El Peso de la culpa by Tania Bruguera. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,816.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Tania Bruguera have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Destierro (Displacement) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 81,250.00 (€ 73,903.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Latin America durch, in der auch die Arbeit El Peso de la culpa von Tania Bruguera zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.816,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tania Bruguera auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Destierro (Displacement) im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 73.903,95).
