This artwork by Tania Bruguera achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Latin American Art Online auction, the work El peso de la culpa (Sin título #3) sold for USD 32,760.00 (€ 30,132.45) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tania Bruguera - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Destierro (Displacement), which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 81,250.00 (€ 73,903.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tania Bruguera erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art Online wurde die Arbeit El peso de la culpa (Sin título #3) für USD 32.760,00 (€ 30.132,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tania Bruguera mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Destierro (Displacement) beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 81.250,00 (€ 73.903,95) versteigert wurde.
