Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Gathering In A Blooming Garden by Tang Zheming was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 90,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 352,800.00 (€ 37,772.77). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tang Zheming - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Autumn Landscape After Du Fu'S Poem, which sold at auction in April 2013 for HKD 1,360,000.00 (€ 133,128.80).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Gathering In A Blooming Garden von Tang Zheming im April 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 90.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 352.800,00 (€ 37.772,77) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Tang Zheming mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Autumn Landscape After Du Fu'S Poem beobachtet, die im April 2013 für HKD 1.360.000,00 (€ 133.128,80) versteigert wurde.
