Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu by Tan Yankai was worth HKD 475,000.00 (€ 54,291.80) to a buyer in October 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tan Yankai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu, which sold at auction in April 2019 for HKD 1,625,000.00 (€ 184,972.32).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Xingshu von Tan Yankai war einem Käufer im Oktober 2019 HKD 475.000,00 (€ 54.291,80) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Tan Yankai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu beobachtet, die im April 2019 für HKD 1.625.000,00 (€ 184.972,32) versteigert wurde.
