This artwork by Tan Oe Pang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 17,651.89) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 65,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tan Oe Pang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mother and Child, which sold at auction in April 2015 for CNY 437,500.00 (€ 63,183.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tan Oe Pang erzielte im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 150.000,00 (€ 17.651,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 65.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tan Oe Pang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mother and Child beobachtet, die im April 2015 für CNY 437.500,00 (€ 63.183,12) versteigert wurde.
