The work Shadow No. 199 by Takamatsu Jiro was sold in the ASOBI: Japanese and Korean Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in October 2015. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 206,500.00 (€ 288,841.92), 38% above the upper estimate. With this result, Shadow No. 199 is even the most expensive work of art by Takamatsu Jiro that we have observed at auctions so far.
