Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Christies in London held the auction Through a Collector's Eye: The Kenzo Kagami Collection of Postwar Japanese Art, which included the work Hien-so, Kyoto B-1 by Tadashi Kawamata. The price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,925.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tadashi Kawamata - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tree Huts Plan, which sold at auction in June 2015 for EUR 43,750.00.
