Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March this year Bonhams held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work On The Beach 57.5Cm (22 5/8In) High Excluding Base; 62Cm (24 7/16In) High Including Base by Sydney Harpley. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,570.00 (€ 4,061.56). Admittedly, works by Sydney Harpley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Summer's Day in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 30,125.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit On The Beach 57.5Cm (22 5/8In) High Excluding Base; 62Cm (24 7/16In) High Including Base von Sydney Harpley zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.570,00 (€ 4.061,56) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sydney Harpley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Summer's Day im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 30.125,36).
