In November last year Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Girl on Her Side Reading by Sydney Harpley. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,874.84) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sydney Harpley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Summer's Day in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 30,125.36).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl on Her Side Reading von Sydney Harpley zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.874,84) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sydney Harpley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Summer's Day im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 30.125,36).
