This artwork by Sydney Harpley achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in June 2007. In the 20th Century British & Irish Art auction, the work Girl On A Swing sold for GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,684.44) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sydney Harpley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Summer's Day, which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 30,125.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sydney Harpley erzielte im Juni 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Girl On A Swing für GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.684,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sydney Harpley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Summer's Day beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 30.125,36) versteigert wurde.
