Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Packaged Story by Svetlana Kopystiansky was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 336.17). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Svetlana Kopystiansky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Seascape in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 57,600.00 (€ 82,717.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Packaged Story von Svetlana Kopystiansky im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 375,00 (€ 336,17) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Svetlana Kopystiansky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Seascape im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 57.600,00 (€ 82.717,39).
